Ronald van Rijn joined bol’s Board of Directors on 1 September 2025 as Chief Technology & Data Officer (CTDO). In March 2026 Product was integrated in this structure and leadership model.
In his role, Ronald is responsible for data-driven innovation and for advancing bol’s technology – not only as a solid foundation, but also as a driver of ongoing renewal and growth – to deliver the best possible shopping experience for customers.

With more than twenty years of experience in technology-driven companies, Ronald is recognised for his ability to grow and innovate large international teams. Before joining bol as Senior Director Technology in June 2024, he served as Chief Technology Officer at Marktplaats, Shpock and FUGA. Prior to that, he held various leadership positions at Nike, eBay, KLM and ING.

In his spare time, Ronald is active in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and tennis. He is married and has two daughters. Ronald holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Windesheim University of Applied Sciences and studied Computer Science at Park University (United States), where he also played volleyball on the college team.
