Our Story
In 1999 we opened our virtual doors as the first online bookstore in Europe. Now, 25 years later, the store has 13.6 million active customers in the Netherlands and Belgium, a range of 42 million items and 47,000 partners who sell their items via the bol platform (reference date: October 31, 2024).
Sustainability
Reducing the production and use of products is a challenge for society as a whole. As one of the largest online stores in the Netherlands and Belgium, we think it is important to take our responsibility in this. We set an example and have everything we need to make an impact with our daily actions. That's why we want to continuously improve our platform for a better future for all of us.
Society
Bol would like to make a positive impact on society. In everything we do as a company, we strive for equality and equal opportunities for everyone. We are committed to diversity and inclusivity among employees by ensuring good working conditions for everyone who works for us. In addition, we try to be as inclusive as possible to our customers, for example by including inclusive casting for our advertisements and marketing. We also support charities. We also develop and support learning programs aimed at increasing equal opportunities among children.
