The distribution centre is scheduled to become operational in 2028. Once the site is running at full capacity, it is expected to be able to process more than 100,000 parcels per day. At peak capacity, around 550 people will work there, across both operational and office roles.

Focus on energy and smart packaging
The new distribution centre in Lelystad is being designed to use as little energy as possible and to minimise operational CO2 emissions. GXO Logistics will use smart packaging machines that create boxes in the exact right size. Items will also be shipped without an additional bol outer box whenever possible. This helps save packaging material and makes shipments even more efficient.
