About Margaret
Margaret Versteden - van Duijn was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of bol on 1 November 2021. In this position, she is responsible for bol's overall strategy and operations, with a focus on further strengthening bol’s market position and achieving sustainable growth of “the shop of us all”, through technological innovation and customer-centric solutions. The Australian-Dutch Margaret brings more than 25 years of experience in the retail and consulting sector to her role as CEO. In addition to her role at bol, she is a member of Hero Group's Supervisory Board.
Prior to her appointment as CEO, Margaret held various leadership positions at bol, including Chief Marketing Officer, Chief Commercial Officerand Chief Platform Officer. In these positions, she played a keyrole in the further development of bol's commercial strategy and platform innovation.
Margaret started her career as a consultant at Boston Consulting Group, where she worked from 1996 to 2004. From 2004 to 2011, she held various international management positions at Nike. Before joining bol in 2015, Margaret was a Partner at Bain & Company, an international management consulting firm, where she worked in consumer goods and retail in Europe and North America. She holds a Bachelor in Business Systems (Business & IT) from Monash University in Australia and a MBA from INSEAD in France.
Margaret is a passionate advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion, both within bol and beyond. Shestrongly believes that the world needs all voices and creativity to thrive.
Margaret has an active lifestyle. She loves to run, travel and enjoys discovering cultures with her family.
